SALES AND MARKETING MANAGER (TradeShow)

Responsible To:   Group Managing Director

Responsible For:  Senior Sales Planner

Works closely with Events Team Manager, PR Resource, General Manager

Location: Leamington Spa

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

  • Accountable for the achievement of revenue for Trade Shows within the bus and coach industry.
  • Manage the marketing and sales activities for Expo in order to maximise and develop business opportunities.
  • Research new prospects for shows and convert into stand or sponsorship sales across the portfolio of trade shows
  • Sales of stands to new target areas of growth for trade shows
  • Establish successful business relationships with key target customers via face to face relationships
  • Collaborate with the Events Team Manager to develop Sales, Profit and Expense Budget plan for trade shows within the bus and coach industry.  Implement the Sales elements of the plans and ensure contingency plans are in place to identify and take remedial action in the event of a shortfall in sales.
  • Manage the design of marketing materials and development/updating of websites for designated events and shows
  • Manage the design of marketing materials for Expo Management and development of associated web material
  • Management of advertising schedule and buying of advertising in accordance with authority levels to achieve maximum return on investment
  • Co-ordinate and issue authorised press releases from PR resource and prepare and distribute electronic marketing material 
  • Ensure continual development of team members’ skills, abilities, knowledge and experience.

KEY TASKS

  • Manage the development and implementation of sales and marketing plans for trade shows within the coach and bus industry through the identification of development opportunities and market potential
  • Maintain a range of databases for operators, suppliers and manufacturers across Europe as part of the Euro Bus Expo brand strategy
  • Communicate with other team members/stakeholders to ensure sales and marketing plans take account of business and show objectives
  • Manage sales and marketing meetings as required
  • Manage  press advertising for shows. 
  • Co-ordinate and complete direct mailing campaigns
  • Participate in the preparation of detailed annual sales and marketing plans.  Build an understanding of market potential of product group and customer profile
  • Co-ordinate planning processes and project management for sales and marketing activities
  • Co-ordinate the design and ensure the production of appropriate marketing and web materials for all Expo trade show portfolio
  • Ensure trade show websites are updated so that they are accurate at all times
  • Prepare reports (verbal and written) as required by the Group MD
  • Participate in the recruitment, induction and on-going development and training of the team.
  • Carry out annual Feedback and Development Reviews and quarterly Feedback Chats
  • Coordinate regular meetings and reviews with all team members and ensure that effective reporting and communication systems are in place
  • Maintain high levels of staff motivation in the team with due consideration being given to individual staff profiles>
  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the level and responsibilities of the post
  • Work in harmony with all other personnel and communicate in an open and courteous manner with colleagues and customers
  • Carry out responsibilities in accordance with Company policies and procedures
  • Undertake any training necessary to carry out duties and responsibilities

  • Campaigns are delivered on time to achieve maximum input and return on investment in marketing activities
  • Achievement of sales and profit margins for product group

  • Visitor attendance and trade show revenue targets are achieved
  • Production of accurate forecasts and budgets
  • Delivery of maximum efficiency and effectiveness of resources

  • The Sales Team demonstrate their commitment to the business and are individually motivated at all times
  • Ability to manage people including, motivation, leadership, delegation, mentoring and appraisal is proven by Direct Reports performance
  • Lateral thinking leads to solutions to problems
  • Appraisals of Direct Reports result in positive outcomes
  • Achievement of annual objectives and completion of Personal Development Plan
