Mark Griffin

I spent 14 years as a bus and coach operator followed by 4 years working for the trade association.

Having experienced a little taste of exhibitions I decided to jump to the other side of the fence and become an organiser where I've been able to maintain strong links with many friends, colleagues, operators and suppliers in an industry about which I'm passionate.

I'm MD for the companies within the Expo Group. For that I often take the credit on behalf of a great team and sometimes I have to stand up and make some difficult decisions. All in all though, it's a great job and every day is different with many, many exciting challenges … but best of all there are loads of opportunities!

The Big Questions

My dream event would be:

I've already lived it! … organising an international cricket conference and exhibition. We did it in 1999 as part of the ICC World Cup and again in 2001. I can't imagine surpassing that.

If I could take a guest to an event of my choice, I'd go to …

To see England beat Australia in a Test or Rugby World Cup Final … I've failed to do this in my lifetime but hopefully at the tender age of 45 I won't have to wait too long again.
