Euro Bus Expo supports the "Smart Move" Campaign

Organisers of this November's leading coach and bus exhibition, Euro Bus Expo 2010, have announced their formal support of the Smart Move campaign. As such Smart Move will form an integral part of the EBE marketing programme for 2010 activities and will be given a valuable promotional platform as founding partners IRU and Busworld aim to raise the profile of the bus and coach industry in Europe and world-wide in order to double the use of this safe, green, efficient, user-friendly and affordable mode of transport.

This commitment will involve the promotion of the Smart Move messages and logos in all EBE advertising and marketing materials leading up the show. In addition there will be details about Smart Move on the show website. This will culminate in a show presence completed with dedicated stand, Smart Move branding and readily available information for exhibitors at Birmingham’s NEC on 2-4 November. Supported by CPT, IRU and Busworld staff will also be on hand throughout this three day show so that visitors can find out more about this ground breaking campaign.

Smart Move was launched at Busworld Kortrijk last October. It was followed by high profile presentations by IRU to EU Ministers, Commission and Parliament officials in Brussels in December and at the United Nations Climate Change Summit, COP15, two weeks before Christmas where delegates received information about the campaign’s objective to double the use of bus and coach transport over the next 15 years.

Euro Bus Expo Show Director Mark Griffin commented: “This is an excellent opportunity to raise the profile of the bus and coach industry through Smart Move. Over the next 12 months we have an extensive European wide marketing campaign lined up to promote November’s show. We are delighted to support the excellent work which IRU and our friends at Busworld have begun. We look forward to playing our part in this initiative and would urge our industry to visit the website to find out more about Smart Move and how they can get involved.”

CPT Chief Executive, Simon Posner added: “CPT welcomes the Smart Move initiative and we will be encouraging our members to fully participate in the scheme as it will undoubtedly play an increasingly important role in the future of our industry.”
